Toulon, Brian Habana’s new French club have made a formal request that the Springbok star is released to their side for Top 14 action by the 31st of August – the day the Boks head on their Australasian tour.
The cash rich club would like their one of their highest paid stars to be ready for their league clash with Grenoble on the last day of the month a day where the Boks are not playing a test. This means that the club have a right to the players services, despite that period being used by the Boks as team transit and training camp in Australia.
The Boks will be facing Australia on the 7th of September and will be looking to spend the week building up to that giving their players time to acclimatise and get rid of jet lag.
This looks like its just the beginning of the issues that will occur because of the extensive use of overseas based players.
