Boks look healthy as they head into Rugby Championship

The Springbok doctor Craig Roberts has reported that there are no serious injuries in the Springbok camp ahead of Rugby Injurythe second addition of the Rugby Championship.

Roberts said that the only slight concern was Looksehead prop Tendai “the Beast” Mtawarira who has a mild hamstring strain and flank Marcell Coetzee who has the flue. However both are expected to be ready to front up to Argentina this weekend.

“It’s been a good week. The only carry-over from last week is Beast. He’s got a mild hamstring strain, He tweaked it at training last week, he had half training today and we are confident he’ll be ready for the weekend. There are one or two guys with flu, but we’re happy with where the overseas guys are.” Roberts said.

He added that prop Jannie du Plessis had also recoverd from a calf strain and will be ready for action by Saturday: “We nursed him through training last week and he went through his paces today and did everything we asked of him, so we’re happy with him.”

The Boks face Argentina in their Rugby Campionship opener this weekend in Soweto.
