The NZRU has reportedly offered Williams a three year contract from next season which will allow him to compete for a place in the 2015 Rugby World Cup.
This was confirmed by NZRU Chief Executive Steve Tew: “The dialogue has been positive but we don’t have any ink on paper.”
Since switching from Leauge to Union in 2008, Williams has starred for Toulon, the Crusaders, the Chiefs and the Panasonic Wild Knights before returning to the Sydney Roosters in the NRL this year.
SBW was part of the 2011 All Black RWC winning team and has 19 test caps to his name. Lets hope to see him light up the pitch next season.
