Blues win the race for NRL star Marshall

After months of speculation the Auckland Blues have announced the signing of NRL star Benji Marshall ahead of next RW Stampyears Super Rugby season.

The Blues have told the media that they have come to a verbal agreement with Marshall after encouragement from his close mate and Blues scrum half All Black Piri Weepu.

With the likes of Sonny Bill Williams and Isreal Folau taking the league by storm over the last couple years after staring in the NRL, the expectation on Marshall is huge. Weepu however believes that Marshall has all the right skills to make an instant impact in Auckland.

Marshall has captained the New Zealand Rugby League team and was hunted by Ausie franchises the Waratahs and the Rebels. He is tipped to be included in the New Zealand Sevens team for the Olympics 2016.
