Masaga, the Chief’s only worry ahead of final

The Chiefs speedster Lelia Masaga is the only Chief’s player in doubt for this weekend’s Super Rugby final against the Brumbies in Hamilton.Rugby Injury

The pacey wing scored a crucial try against the Crusaders last weekend to make sure that for the second time in as many years, the Waikato based franchise would have a home final.

Masaga left the field during the match in the second half with an ankle injury and will be accessed during the week by the medical staff.

Coach Dave Rennie however has told the New Zealand media that he does expect Masanga to take the field this weekend.

“We’ll go on what we get back from the medics, but we’re anticipating he’s (Masaga) going to be OK, he’s the worst of our worries,” Rennie said.

Other early concerns with captain Craig Clarke and Tanerau Latimer have cleared up and Bandee Aki is due to return to training soon after a couple days resting a niggle.
