Some see what Alan Solomons has done as jumping ship, whilst he explains that he has done all he can with the men from Port Elizabeth, and that it is the perfect time to leave.
He also reckons the Kings will beat the Lions by the required 7 points or more this Saturday and secure a second year the toughest provincial competition in the world.
“I believe the Kings will win by more than seven points on Saturday and that they will again play Super Rugby next year,” he told Die Burger.
“The reason why I left is because my wife is still in Britain and it was very tough for us these last three years.” Said Solomons.
“In any case, my contract with the Kings ends at the end of the year and I asked if I could leave earlier to start at Edinburgh.”
He will officially start in his new role at Murrayfield on August 9.
The Lions vs Kings match at Ellis Park will kick off at 17:00 on Saturday
