Western Force name strong side for Lions showdown (team sheet)

The Western Force have included six test players in their team who will hope to humiliate the British and IrishTeamsheets Lions in their first match on Ausie soil on Wednesday.

The team will be captained by Wallaby Matt Hodgson (6 tests) at flank. He is joined in the side by fellow Walabies; no.8 Richard Brown (23 test), prop Salesi Ma’afu (13 tests), scrum half Brett Sheehan (6 tests) and fly half Sam Norton-Knight (2 tests).

The sixth test player in the squad is All Black scrum half Alby Mathewson (four tests) who will provide cover from the bench.

The team also benefits from a plethora of international age-group and sevens rugby players including; former Australian Under-20 prop Salesi Manu and hooker James Hilterbrand, former Australian Sevens representative Ed Stubbs as well as former IRB Junior World Championship front row forwards Hugh Roach (Australia), Tim Metcher (Australia) and Sione Kolo (Fiji).
