Smith and McCabe injuries not that bad

The Brumbies and Wallabies have been boosted by the report that the injuries suffered by George Smith and Pat Rugby InjuryMcCabe last weekend are not as serious as previously thought.

Smith suffered a grade two medial ligaments tear in his left knee, but after medical scans he has been advised that he does still have a slim chance of being fit to face the British and Irish Lions for the second time and a good chance to finish the season with the Brumbies.  He is predicted to be out of action for 6 weeks which will allow him to face the Lions in the second test in Melbourne.

McCabe, who also injured his knee last weekend, has been told that his scans have revealed no serious damage and may be available for the Brumbies in two less than two weeks.
