–          Rod Davies will make his starting debut in place of Ioane.

–          On the bench; winger Chris Feauai-Sautia returns from injury.

Reds Director of Rugby, Ewen Mckenzie told the media how he felt that the recent bye week had was extremely beneficial.

“We used our week off as an opportunity to give players the chance to rest and to take time off from Rugby to ensure they are prepared for what will be a difficult eight-game stretch going into the June Test break, Everyone seems to have responded well to the time off and the players returned to training on Tuesday energised and excited about the challenges that are ahead.” he said.

“For this week, we also have a guy like Rod Davies bringing in even more enthusiasm and energy into the group and you know just how eager he is to play well with the opportunity he has been given. With Davies coming in we are actually reforming the same backline we had in the 2011 Super Rugby Final with the exception of Digby, who is only one more week away from returning.”  He concluded.

The Reds travel to Waikato to take on the Chiefs on Saturday, KO KO 04:35 CAT (03:35 BST).
