Big guns in for Rebels opener

The Melbourne Rebels have named their squad to face the Western Force in this year’s Super Rugby opener on ResultsFriday.

The Rebels have included wallaby stars Kurtley Beale and James O’Connor in their starting team in the hope of getting to a flying start when they front up to the Force.

They have also chosen to start new recruit, Wallaby Scott Higginbotham at open side flanker in the hope that he will had some much needed physicality to the group.

The bench comprises of three new signings in the form of Stade de France outside back, Alex Rokoboro, Sydney University centre, Tom English, and Japanese international Shota Horie who will be looking forward to their Super Rugby debuts if called upon.

There will also be welcome returns of Laurie Weeks and Jarrod Saffy who both spent most of 2012 sidelined with injury.

The Rebels host the Force in Melbourne on Friday, KO 19.40 WAT (08:40 GMT, 10:40 CAT)
